Job Description

The individual, as part of the management team, will be responsible for communications, campaign and event planning, social media visibility, product marketing, and positioning BGSL as a leading mission-driven financial institution in Ghana.

Major Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a flexible and result-oriented communications strategy for internal and external communications.
Generate ideas and create content for social media/digital channels, ensuring clarity and connection with readers. Write and edit various content, including program participant/client stories, video scripts, blogs, case studies, factsheets, and annual reports.
Maintain an editorial calendar, oversee the monthly and yearly content production process, and produce quarterly factsheets.
Monitor BGSLs web page for necessary updates and collaborate with the BRAC International Microfinance Communications team for website maintenance.
Provide communications support during emergencies and crises.
Plan and implement media strategies to enhance BGSLs positioning within local media.
Conceptualize and organize special events to support advocacy initiatives, targeting core audiences such as government ministries, regulators, partner organizations, donors, and investors.
Support internal communication by working closely with cross-functional departments, executing campaigns, and boosting employee morale and loyalty.
Identify media and campaign opportunities, collaborate with the wider BRAC International communications team, ensure brand consistency, engage effectively in PR, and organize campaigns to enhance the visibility of the OneBRAC brand.
Coordinate programmatic and strategic communication at the branch, area, and country office levels when necessary.
Ensure consistency in communication materials with the BRAC Branding Policy, Communication Policy, and BRAC Style Guide. Conduct staff training on brand and communications policy.
Support knowledge management, SPM, product, HR, and other functions in organizing campaigns and maintaining agreed messages and brand guidelines in reports, presentations, and external communications.
Coordinate field visits by various BRAC stakeholders.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Bachelors degree with a concentration in Communication, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
Professional Degree/Certification:

Professional certification in the field is a plus.
Experience:

4 years of professional experience in a similar role.
Knowledge, Skills & Competencies:

Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders.
Clear thinking, effective response, multitasking ability, and prioritization skills.
Strategic and creative thinking with experience in diverse communication strategies and all forms of media.
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
Experience in measuring the impact of communications and products and modifying strategies based on results.
Ability to develop creative ideas and turn them into reality.
Willingness and ability to travel within the country and spend days in the field.
Proven planning and organizing skills.
