A reputable Business Support Organisation (BSO) has expanded its scope of providing targeted business-support services to its members via evidence-based research as well as initiating policy discussions to support a conducive business environment.
In view of this, the BSO is seeking to engage a Research Officer with requisite knowledge and experience to support its research and advocacy programmes
Duties and Responsibilities
• Conduct research projects/activities including proposal development, research design, desk studies, literature reviews, training, data collection, analysis, report writing, etc.
• Mobilise and analyse relevant government policies and programmes as well as business regulations;
• Analyse and generate periodic report on the performance of business and industry;
• Conduct business surveys and expert interviews on topical and emerging issues; Identify policy gaps from research findings and use the information to develop policy briefs for advocacy;
• Prepare position papers, MoUs, press releases, policy briefs, knowledge management materials, conference abstract, project presentations as well as policy-related speech on behalf of the BSO
• Supervise the work of National Service Personnel assigned the department
• First degree in a Social Science subject, Business Administration, relevant specialist subject OR more than three (3) years of professional experience conducting business research or consultancy (Masters degree may be added advantage)
• In-depth understanding of the Ghanaian private sector, government policies and programmes
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis
• Excellent oral presentation, communication and networking skills and inter-personal ability
• Capable of working under pressure and meeting deadlines
• Good team player, and time management skills
